Massage Therapy is the practice of soft tissue manipulation that affects the body both physically and psychologically. Physically, treatments mechanically affect fascial restrictions, adhesions, vascular and lymphatic systems as well the neurological system. Psychologically the effects include increased well being and assist in relieving stress. Physical injury and stress are held in the body through imbalances. Patterns of muscle tension, trigger points, and contractures pull on the fascial web requiring the body to shift and compensate. This repeated and chronic pattern can cause pain and injury in the body in areas that seem unrelated. Our goal is not to treat only the symptom, but the cause of pain or injury.

Chiropractors provide diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints. Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, depending on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a history, performing an examination and establishing a diagnosis, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling. One of the most common therapies a chiropractor uses is spinal manipulative therapy (SMT). Specific training in SMT allows chiropractors to provide highly-skilled and precise manipulation to the joints of the spine, which is effective at correcting joint motion to restore proper movement, relieve pain and improve function.
